Reviews
I very much enjoyed this production! I thought Jennifer did an outstanding job at expressing the complex emotions of Miranda. Her mannerisms reminded me of Carrie Mathison in Homeland! Well done production and wardrobe. I found both to be very authentic and made me feel as though I was truly in Yemen.
...As usual at the IRT, the acting is close to flawless. Jennifer Coombs deserves particular comment; her portrayal of the title character is stunningly nuanced at every turn. She is new to the IRT and we are very fortunate to have her with us and I hope that she will return often.
A great evening of theatre, indeed, with a magically appropriate inclusion of Othello/Iago. Do not miss this play!
Miranda is a compelling drama that held my interest from beginning to end. I ached for the loneliness felt by the characters which is a real tribute to James Still and the cast members that brought it to life. The story is so today and yet so timeless. The intertwining of Othello in the storyline was pure genius. I highly recommend this play to all who like good theater.
I thought the cast of Miranda was superb! The script was intriguing, and the set and lights created the right mood for the mysterious story we were about to be told. Kudos to all! Enjoyed it immensely!
About the Play
Haunting mystery.
A CIA operative working in the Middle East goes through a mind-bending existential crisis. Who are her friends? Who is the enemy? And just who is Miranda? The IRT’s award-winning playwright in residence, James Still, brings us a psychological riddle set in the world’s most explosive region.
Content & Effects Advisory
Miranda is a psychological drama that contains strong language, references to sexuality and offstage references to war-like situations. This production also includes theatrical haze and strobe light effects.
